This chip is a converter driver that takes an instantaneous voltage level and convert it into parallel digital outputs, very useful to visualize the voltage level of a signal using LED dot display or bar display. This chip is commonly used for making VU meter, great for visualizing audio signal, and even used to build an equalizer display!
