Description

This is the photointerrupter optical sensor can be used for sensing paper, rotary encoder disk, or any object for proximity sensing.

ITR9606 consists of an infrared emitter diode and NPN silicon phototransistor placed in pair and facing each other, creating an infrared curtain in a small plane. When the infrared emitter diode and NPN phototransistor is powered with proper circuit, if there is an opaque object obstruct the infrared ray path, phototransistor will not receive the infrared ray, therefore changing the output voltage.
